Photo Contest & Yappy Hour

National Pet Day is April 11, although if you are a pet owner, you know there is not a day that goes by that you do not celebrate your animal companion! That is why New Brunswick wants to extend the fun through April and allow patrons to show off their furry friends.

Through all of April and into May, New Brunswick wants to celebrate & showcase our local furry or winged friends with a month-long photo contest for locals to share their pet photos taken around New Brunswick for a chance to win several Prize Packs!

Specifications

For one month, (April 1st – 30th) we will collect submitted photos from pet owners, that were taken at a New Brunswick location, and create a gallery upon the New Brunswick Cultural Center’s website for all to see.

Of those submissions, we will randomly select four (4) dogs to be in a final Voting Round competition, May 2nd – May 6th, in which each of those qualifiers selected will encourage their friends to “like to vote” the image of their pet on NB Pack Walks Facebook page.

On May 6th, beginning at 3:00 PM, a Yappy Hour event will be hosted at NBPAC, from which the final Grand Prize winner will be announced and given their prize, along with three Runner Up Prizes. During the Yappy Hour, all of those who submitted photos of their dogs will also be able to see the dogs displayed on NBPAC’s screens during the Yappy Hour event.

Timeline

April 1st – Submissions page opens on New Brunswick Cultural Center Website.

April 1st – April 30th – Entries will be collected and organized for one final week of voting to determine the “top dog”

May 1st – Four (4) randomly selected entries will be chosen for the voting round.

May 2nd – May 6th – Votes will open up for the four (4) randomly selected pups. Votes will be collected through Facebook Likes on the New Brunswick Pack Walks Facebook Page

May 6th – A live Yappy Hour event will be hosted inside & out at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center from 3 pm – 5 pm.

The final voting winner will be announced by 4:45 PM and given their Grand Prize Winner Prize Pack.

Three “Runner Up” Prize Packs will be given to the other competitors from the Voting Round.

Photo Submission Rules

New Brunswick’s Pet Photo Contest is a photo contest hosted by the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), New Brunswick Cultural Center, New Brunswick City Center, and New Brunswick Pack Walks. Pet owners are invited to submit photos between April 1, 2022, at 12:00 AM and April 30, 2022, at 11:59 PM. Any photo you submit must be taken by you. One entry is allowed per household. Any attempt to enter more than once per household will disqualify all entries from that household. You must have permission from any people appearing in photos before you submit them. All pets in submitted photos must belong to the submitter. Photos may be posted on all host websites and social media accounts, including, but not limited to, www.NewBrunswickArts.org and www.NewBrunswick.com .

Voting begins May 2, 2022, at 12:00 PM (Noon) and ends May 6, 2022, at 11:59 AM (Noon). Voting is limited to one vote per verified email address. If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other sources, the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, New Brunswick City Center, New Brunswick Cultural Center, and NB Pack Walks, reserve the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion.

The top vote-getter wins the prize. If two or more photos receive the same number of votes, staff will break the tie.

Prizes will be awarded to the grand prize winner and three runners-up winners on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Yappy Hour event. If unable to attend the event, the prize must be picked up at the New Brunswick City Center offices, 109 Church Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, within 14 days of notification.
