The program is free, but advance registration is required. To register, contact Jennifer Cunha at 732-246-7469, ext. 545 or jcunha@statetheatrenj.org Musician, composer, actor, director, and writer Guy Davis shares the traditions of acoustic blues music and African-American culture through a seamless combination of songs, stories, and performance pieces. An internationally-recognized performer and recording artist for adult audiences, Guy is equally acclaimed for his work with young audiences. For the Nickelodeon network’s Nick, Jr. channel, he wrote and recorded songs for Whoopi Goldberg’s Littleburg series, and appeared and sang in Jack’s Big Show. Guy wrote and performed the title track for the Teaching Tolerance campaign’s CD, I Will Be Your Friend: Songs and Activities for Young Peacemakers. Most recently, he has been performing as one-third of a trio with folk-music legend Pete Seeger and Seeger’s grandson, Tao Rodriguez Seeger. Sponsored by the Provident Bank Foundation.
