| Info/Notes: | Mondongo ScamMarch 5, 2008 - 8:00pm The Center for Latino Arts and Culture is pleased to announce the presentation of the play, “Mondongo Scam” scheduled for Wednesday, March 5 at the 8pm at the Crossroads Theatre, 7 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick. Written and performed by acclaimed Dominican artist CLAUDIO MIR, Mondongo Scam is a bilingual solo work that shatters stereotypes of all kinds. Its point of departure are the struggles that immigrants live through in order to survive. The central character, Casiano Tapia, is an undocumented immigrant who is accused of fraud for using social security cards and other documents of deceased U.S. citizens. The program is sponsored by the Department of Spanish & Portuguese, the Latin American Studies Program, the Latino and Hispanic Caribbean Studies Department, Sociedad Estudiantil Dominicana y la Unidad Latina.
